Spells/Combat Arts
Every Spells/Combat Arts have a background color, they have a meaning.
They affects:
- Red: A single enemy target
- Blue: All non-player creatures within range. This is known as AOE (Area of Effect)
- Green: All enemies within the target encounter, which means one group of mobs
- Yellow: Only the caster, which means yourself
- Gold (may seems Orange): A single targeted group member
- Purple: All members within your group
Most class have buffs and debuffs Spell/Combat Arts. Buffs are Beneficial Spells/Combat Arts that you cast on your
group members, as well as yourself, to increase Skills and Attributes. Debuffs are Spells/Combat Arts that
you cast on enemies to weaken them making your attacks more effective.
These buffs and debuffs have an effect time span.
For the buffs you can look in your "Maintain" window to see when they will wear off. For
the debuffs look in your "Effects" window.
Do not recast your buffs just because your "hot buttons" are enabled. That just means the
recast time has been completed, the effect may still be on. It is a waste of mana recasting a
Spell/Combat Arts that is already in effect.
-
Use the buffs with a time span of "Until cancelled" on your group members when the group is
formed and together, and every time after you revive. Also, recast the buffs that affect a
specific member if you have revived or if she/he has revived.
-
Cast the other buffs at the beginning of the battle and recast them when they wear off or just before
to make the best use of your mana.
-
Cast the debuffs on the mobs before hitings them. The debuffs weakens them and your
attacks will be more effective
-
Recast the debuffs as soon as they wear off or just before
-
Take the time to learn your Spells/Combat Arts. Often some of them works great in combinations.
For example, if you Stun the mob before hitting it, you increase you change of making more
damage. Scouts often have 3 or 4 abilities that can be cast in a row with great effect.
- The Spells/Combat Arts are also used to bring the Heroic Opportunity to completion.
