Do's and Don'ts

  • When the Tank announces his pull:
    • Wait till the Tank has done his taunt
    • Cast your buffs. The reason that the buffs are to be cast after the taunt is that it generates hate even before the combat starts.
    • It is a good time to use Hex Dolls spell if you have them. (Since they have a long casting time you can try to have it take effect after the taunt by casting it with or after the pull message) Note: The Healer should never use Hex Dolls spell, it takes way too long to get to the completion, this will prevent you to heal when it is really needed.
    • Then use your debuffs
    • Next, attack with your less damaging Spells/Combat Arts and gradually build up to your most damaging Spells/Combat Arts
The reason is it gives time to the Tank to build up the hates from the mobs against him thus making the aggro harder to break
  • The DPS always target the Tank. The Tank has to be always shown in your "Target" window, and the mob the Tank targets is displayed in your "Implied Target" window
    • If the Tank isn't targeting anything be patient, this close to the fight it is hard for him/her to see what is going on
      • Inform the Tank that he/she is not targeting a mob
      • Never ever start your own battle, keep targeting the Tank always
  • During a fight always stay behind the mobs. Only the Tank must be facing them. Some mobs have frontal AOE and if you stand in front of the mob you will get hit even if you are not targeted. Also, this helps the Tank to see if he has the attention of all the mobs
  • Even with the melee attacks you can be a few meters away from the mobs and be able to hit them. So don't get any closer than needed. This will help the Tank by making the mobs easier to target. Only the Tank needs to be close to the mobs
  • Choose your battles. Learn how to Consider the strength of your enemy
    • The color tells you if the mob is above your level or below. Depending on your own level a blue mob can be 1 level below and as far as 10 levels below you. Same color but a totally different fight
    • They are also rated with arrows above their name in your target window or implied target window. They can have from 0 to 3 arrows. Mobs with 3 down arrows are the weakest, mobs with no arrow are kind of a normal fight, mobs with 3 up arrows are the most difficult encounters
    • Also some mobs are tagged as Heroic, these mobs are design to be fought by a group of characters. A group of 3 to 6 characters is considered Heroic. Mobs with no tag are designed to be fought by solo players. A group of 2 characters is considered Solo.
  • Never harvest while adventuring with your group. This delay the group, could split them apart increasing chances of adds and, most of all, frustration in the group
  • During a fight, if a mob attacks don't ever run away, die if you must. This only creates confusion among the group and you could bring unwanted Adds along. Whole groups have been wiped out just because of this.
    • Stay at your position, do your job. Inform the group member whose role is to take care of Aggro or Adds
    • Don't increase your hate level with this mob. Do not attack it. Continue targeting the Tank.
    • Die with Honor doing your job, and not while running scared like a coward
  • Inform the group when you are running out of mana or when your life is getting critically low. Especially if you are the healer
